Swapadventure’s 3rd Annual Holiday Donation Event took place on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 from 11:00-2:00 PM at Belvedere Banquets in Elk Grove Village. This unique holiday event invites kids and their families to give a gift to Santa – instead of getting one. The gifts are donated to children in need so they can have fun celebrating the season too. Admission to the event is free. All that is asked is that you bring a toy, book or piece of clothing to donate to a child in need.

Kids were particularly filled with excitement, and DJ Alesha with 4Sure Entertainment played “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”as Santa made his grand arrival entrance at 11:30 am! Then free professional photos with Santa were available for everyone!

Also at the event was meet & greet with Swapadventure Snow Princesses, cookie decorating, arts and crafts, glitter tattoos by Laine Too, a balloon animal maker, delicious hot chocolate, dance performances by local groups Dance with Me and Trinity, and appearances by Chicago Bears mascot ‘Staley the Bear’ and Chicago Bulls legend Bob Love, who took photos and signed autographs for the kids.

DJ Alesha with 4Sure Entertainment kept kids and their parents in the holiday spirit with fun holiday music played throughout the event.

Swapadventure co-founders and hosts Maggie Pawelko and Angelika Babich closed out the event raffling off several items, for which the profits were donated to charity.

The Swapadventure event is a heart-warming example of local businesses and people banding together to do something good during the holiday season. It provides a great time for children and their families, while reminding us all of the true meaning of Christmas.
